Intended use
The purpose of an impression is to accurately transfer the position of the implant, or sometimes an abutment, in relation to natural teeth, other implants and soft tissue contours to a model Implant level impressions are used to accurately and easily record implant positions using open or closed tray techniques. Exceptions are the Express and Access Abutments which have their own specific copings.
Material
The impression copings are made of stainless steel (apart from Ø3.25 Impression coping which is made of titanium).
Packaging
The universal impression coping kit contains an impression coping, red impression coping cap and Implant Replica. The Impression Coping is pre-assembled with the screw and the extension tube. The red impression coping cap is only used with the closed tray impression technique. The open tray coping kit contains impression coping and implant replica. The impression coping is pre-assembled with the screw and the extension tube.
Seating
The Neoss impression coping is ‘self-seating’. This means that the screw will not engage the implant if the coping is not correctly seated. However, a radiograph is recommended if there is any uncertainty or risk of soft tissue entrapment.
The upper part of the impression coping has a direction indicator located between the two flat surfaces that align with one of the engaging lugs for optimal orientation.
The direction indicator is ideally positioned facially for proper seating of the red impression coping cap. Align the flat side of the red impression coping cap with the direction indicator on the impression coping to allow for proper orientation of the impression coping cap during seating.
